Sutter's Fort

We are going to Living History Day on April 17th. This is an overnight trip where students experience life on the Gold Rush Fields of California. This is a huge deal and so exciting for students. It also involves a lot of participation. I would love for you all to encourage students to join, and I would love if parents and teachers would join us as volunteers. We have many stations that staff and parents need to run.

Families, this is a free event that is put together by all of YOUR hard work. Please, lets all work together to put together an amazing experience for our students.

Wall of Fame

We have started a Wall of Fame for Students, Parents and Staff at the San Andreas site to showcase some of the amazing people we have at Mountain Oaks. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful community.

Nomination forms are at the front desk and can be completed by anyone. Please return the nomination forms to the San Andreas front desk. We will choose a winner at the beginning of each month.

Parents Supporting Parents

Board Member Election Results

Our Mountain Oaks Board Member Election concluded Friday, February 28th at 4:00 pm. I am honored to announce the reelection of our incumbent board member, Roxanna Rabe, and our newly elected board member, Tabitha Lemons. The installation for Roxanna and Tabitha will be during our March 12th board meeting at 5:00 pm. All community members are invited to attend. Homeschooling 101

All homeschooling families are invited to attend a "How to Homeschool" session with Linda Mariani, Mountain Oaks Governing Board Member. Linda is one of the founders of our school. Linda and her friend Nancy had a vision 31 years ago of providing a school of choice to families in our community. She has a wealth of knowledge to share with our community members.

The meetings will be held on the San Andreas campus in the Huckleberry Room from 10:30 to 12:00 noon on March 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th.

CAASPP Letter

Thank you to all of our Mountain Oak families. We appreciate you and how you support your student(s) in our program. All families will be receiving the attached letter in the mail next week. Yes, we are sending it to families that do not have students eligible for the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). We want all families to know how important the CAASPP scores are to the continued success of our school.

I encourage you to reach out to me and/or your mentor teacher if you have any questions regarding how CAASPP, iReady and MAP assessments impact our continued growth at Mountain Oaks.

Science Fair Results

Mountain Oaks Science Fair was a hit this year! We had an amazing turn out and it was incredible to see all the hard work that went into these amazing projects. All students pulled out all the stops! CAASPP Practice Test Student Reflection Form

Lunches

Just a reminder that if you signed up for lunch and are not going to be on campus to get lunch please let us know before 11:00 that day. That way we have time to inform the cafeteria lady and she won't prepare the food. Just today alone we had 11 out of 18 students not show up for the lunches they ordered. That is a lot of wasted food. At some point, it could become an issue and we could lose the hot lunch program and only be able to offer shelf-stable lunches to our families. Posted 11/12/24

The testing window opens March 31, 2025, the Monday we come back from Spring Break.

The testing window closes May 13, 2025, the day before Frog Jump.

Push Week - In-Person Testing at all three Sites is April 7-11, 2025.
