Q and A

Q: What do we need to bring?  Clothing?  Tents?  Sleeping bags? 
A: Yes, please pack a sleeping bag, pillow, and change of clothes. Also, bring any hygiene items you need. We will be staying in a large town hall. If you need mats to sleep on, you may bring them as we will be sleeping on the floor.

Q: What food is provided?  Is there cold/refrigerated storage for the food we bring?  Can we bring coolers? 
A: You are welcome to bring any school appropriate food in a cooler. We will be making lunch and dinner as a group. We will have homemade bread and potato and leek soup. This is a vegan soup to accommodate dietary restrictions. If families want to bring other things to go with dinner. You are welcome. If you cannot have bread, but want to participate, then you can bring gluten free bread to eat.

Q: What is the program like? Are there breaks?
A: Yes, there are breaks. We will have breaks for all parents working at stations, and students will go to a docent-led lesson. Here is a sample schedule

Q: Do we have to stay overnight, or can we just stay for the day/evening? 
A: If you must leave, that is okay. However, we really hope you will stay the night, as the next morning we will get to tour the State Native American History Museum.

Q: What about parking?  Is there room for RV parking?  Is there a cost for parking? 
A: Here is a parking map. There are free parking spots. But if you plan to park in a parking garage, it is $18 for a day. 

Q: Where can we buy the shirts mentioned in the post?
A: We had sold shirts for Mountain Oaks before in the past. If you do not have a Mountain Oaks shirt. You can wear any green shirt to identify yourself as with the Mountain Oaks group.

Q: How do we deal with dietary restrictions?
A: You are welcome to bring your own food for the evening in a cooler. We will be using a stone stove to cook. So keep that in mind. 

Q: What time does the program end the next day?
A: 9 AM. It is 24 hours. Then you can come to the State Native American Musuem with the group after.

Q: Can non-Mountain Oaks siblings come?
A: Yes, family members are all welcome.
