Traditional Graduation Ceremony:
Graduates arrive at 4 PM for photos, rehearsal and then graduation begins promptly at 6 PM in the gym at our Mountain Oaks San Andreas site.  Seniors will walk the stage, sit with their class, and receive their diplomas in order or mentor teacher.  Each student will be asked to give a short speech and if they choose not to, their mentor teacher will say something about them.  Graduation typically lasts at 2-2.5 hours.  We do not give tickets and families are not allowed to save seats, but we do not limit the amount of people anyone brings to graduation.  There have been times when it was standing room only in the gym. The benefits of this type of ceremony are that it is a group graduation and families can bring as many people as they want.  The drawback is that it is long and hard to get good photos of your child graduating (but you can purchase photos from the photographer).

Individual Graduation Ceremony:
We schedule blocks of times for the graduates to arrive.  There will be no limit to the number of family members allowed at graduation, however there will only be 3 parking spaces blocked off near the stage and graduation ceremony area (meaning no more than 3 vehicles driving up to the stage area).  If your attendees do not fit in these 3 vehicles, attendees may be dropped off at the entrance of school (Old Oak Road and Pool Station) and walk in from there.  We suggest families reserve the 3 vehicles for family members who may not be able to walk from Pool Station up Old Oak Road.  We will be sending out more information on the logistics of vehicles and parking if this option is selected and as graduation gets closer.  We have beautifully decorated stage outside for the graduates.  Each graduate and their family get out of their cars, takes their individual photos, pomp and circumstance is played while the graduate walks the outdoors stage, gets their diploma from their mentor teacher and either the graduate or the mentor teacher will say something about the graduate.  The photographer gets a photograph as the graduate receives their diploma and family members can take photos also.  Families have enjoyed these the last 2 years because they are close enough to get photos of their graduates.   We have had many wonderful photos taken of the graduates and their families on the stage.  We will schedule a group class photo for the last week of school. During that time, we will also have a social and possible dance for the seniors. The benefit to this type of ceremony is that each graduate is only here for about 30 minutes and can proceed with the rest of the graduation celebration and they have better photo opportunities. The drawback is that it is not a group graduation.
