Athletics Policy
Mountain Oaks School recognizes the goal of developing the whole person. The athletic program is one aspect of a balanced approach in developing the whole person physically, mentally, socially, creatively and emotionally.

The athletic committee recommends that:
• Everyone participates and each student has the opportunity to play.
• Mountain Oaks considers offering sports not available at the community level.
• Individual sports as well as team sports are offered.
• Students need to be committed to the sport as determined by the Athletic Committee.
• Parents form an integral part of the program by offering support, guidance, and direction to their student.

Uniforms and equipment are furnished by Mountain Oaks. Players may meet at Mountain Oaks to commute to games with Approved Field Trip Drivers. Athletic participation fees may be required, pending Mountain Oaks Governing Board review and approval.

Fall 2010 Sports
This fall, Mountain Oaks is offering co-ed soccer and girls volleyball to all MO high school students. Knowledge of the sport is not necessary, you will learn as you play. If you are interested, please let Rob Roesner know or sign up at the San Andreas site. Practice will begin on Monday, August 9th at the San Andreas site. You will need a current physical (forms available from Rob) and a copy of your medical insurance card at the first practice you attend. Athletes will now be responsible for providing their own physical certificates prior to participating in sports. We will no longer be offering the low-cost physical option through the school. Certificates must be dated after August 1, 2010 and are good through July 31, 2011. Come on out! Try something new! Make new friends! Participate on a Mountain Oaks Athletic team!
