Organizational Structure and Committees

Mountain Oaks is a non-profit charter school sponsored by the Calaveras County Office of Education, governed by a Board of Directors and supported by an active committee structure.

Committees

Much of the running of Mountain Oaks School is decided at the meetings of committees. Parents, guardians, staff, and students are welcomed and encouraged to join many of the committees. Attending committee meetings counts towards a family's volunteer hours.

Admissions
Monitors admissions process, coordinates with Special Education, does exit interviews and facilitates Family Support Teams (FST).

Athletics
Plans and implements athletic programs which promote well-rounded, physically fit students through activities, competitions, and social camaraderie in a safe, nurturing environment.

Curriculum / Instruction / Assessment Committees
K-8th Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
Curriculum: Aligns and adopts course of study with state standards, reports updates, and recommends instructional materials.
Instruction: Develops and modifies procedures, best practices, and direct instruction, approves and coordinates workshops and instructors.
Assessment: Aligns assessments with state standards and curriculum, disaggregates data, evaluates workshops and student performance.
9-12th Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment
Same as above.

Development Committees
Board Development: Governing Board recruitment, training, development and maintenance.
Fund Development: Coordinates grant writing and monitors outside financial support.
Program: Develops long range planning and goals, monitors program quality, WASC.
Technology: Develops and implements technology infrastructure plan, budget, and recommends policies.

Finance/Personnel Committees
Finance: Develops budget for approval by Mountain Oaks Governing Board and Calaveras County Office of Education Board, reviews requests for budget adjustments.
Personnel: Assesses personnel needs, develops job descriptions, interviews, recommends salary/benefits, monitor staff development, recommends personnel policies.

Steering Committees
San Andreas Site: Site specific steering committee that develops and implements site plans, workshop schedules, approves lease and rental agreements, site upgrades and repairs.
Amador Site:
Same as above.
Tuolumne Site:
Same as above.
