Important Announcements
Amador Site

You may now see a sample of the 2009-2010 Mountain Oaks Yearbook at the front desk and order one if you like.
Thanks Volunteers!
On behalf of the staff at the Amador site, Jeannie, Trevor and Valarie would like to thank the following volunteers for their dedication to getting the “mudroom” emptied and set up for Linda R. Thank you to Donald B., Judi B., Rebecca B., Ryan M., Brad W., and Colt W. As a result of their herculean efforts, we now have a new office and conference room.
Mountain Oaks Amador Parent Volunteer Program
Welcome Parents!

Part of what makes Mountain Oaks such a wonderful, productive, and fun learning environment for our children is the support we receive from all of our parents. Annual parent-led activities include our Winter Craft Day, cultural celebrations, Living History Day, Share-Days, and the End-of School Swim Party. These events make up a big piece of our children’s Mountain Oaks experience.

You can fulfill part of your volunteer hours (minimum of 4 hours per month required) by helping coordinate/host these events.

There are also many daily/weekly/monthly projects and chores that, due to budget restraints, parents are really needed for! We need volunteers to "adopt" the following chores by signing up for a specific day of the week:

*general cleaning of campus areas - kitchen, lounge area, classrooms, front porch etc.
*yard/grounds work and maintenance
*weed eating
*watering front flower beds
*maintaining fence line along street
*help transporting books/etc. between San Andreas and Ione
*fundraising

Most importantly, we are always open to new ideas! If you have a special skill or interest and have an idea, we encourage you to “make it happen!”

Please adopt a task and/or sign up to help host an event on the sheets located on the bulletin board just inside the door.

Thank You!
This class will be on Sept. 13th from 2-3:30P and is limited to no more than 12 students due to equipment limitations.
Life after Mt Oaks: College in the United Kingdom and Travels
Presented by Kelly Dolan, a former Mountain Oaks Student
Thursday, Oct. 7th, 11A-12N.

Kelly Dolan is one of our graduating alums who is presently visiting here in Calaveras County. After high school, Kelly attended UCLA to receive his BA. He then received his MA from Oxford and his high school teaching credential at Cambridge (both in the U.K.). All of his degrees are in his favorite subject, Geography.

Join us to hear about some of his adventures in college and around the world!
Once again it's time to find an interested high school student who is willing to volunteer to serve as the non-voting student representative to the Governing Board. If you are willing to serve for one year on the Mountain Oaks' Governing Board, please see your site secretary click below for an application. Applications are due to be turned in to an administrator by October 1st.
